What are the risks that datacenter migration will encounter?

Datacenter migration, the enterprise will migrate to the data center when the enterprise develops to a certain extent, or when the previous machine room is not satisfied with the current data center. Data center migration is simple, but if you really do it, you will find that data center migration is a complex project.
 Datacenter migration
It is more difficult to move the data center safely, because when the data center is migrated, there are some risks that can not be avoided, but we can take some measures to reduce the risk of data center migration.
What risks do you encounter when migrating in a data center? What measures should we do to avoid these risks? Let's analyze the problems and risks associated with the management of the data center.
1. data migration
Migrating application data from one place to another may be one of the most complex aspects of data center migration engineering. A simple solution is to perform backup based on tape or hard disk and perform recovery; however, similar translation migration, backup and recovery are limited in the ability to provide timely recovery services. In addition, backup and recovery is not the most ideal method for data migration -- it is more suitable for disaster recovery scenarios with limited data recovery.
2. hardware migration
There are usually two strategies for migrating physical servers: one is "translation" and another is data replication. In the translation strategy, the hardware is put on the moving truck and installed in the new data center. The system has been backed up before moving to the new site, but this strategy poses some risks.
One of the biggest risks is that the physical server may be damaged during the handling process, and the damage during transportation will result in backups useless. Another challenge is that the two data centers are too far apart, so this method is unrealistic and can not guarantee that services can be used in acceptable time periods.
The second strategy is to transfer data through a leased line. Leased lines bring two kinds of sub-swing hardware solutions. One solution is to implement physical machine to physical machine (P2P) migration. P2P migration requires the acquisition of similar hardware, so that the application and hardware of the original data center can be migrated in the past, while ensuring the shortest downtime.
3. service availability
The main purpose of data centers is to host applications running to provide services for business. Whenever you consider moving from one data center to another, you must first consider the availability of the underlying services. These services include infrastructure applications such as active directory and client oriented applications such as SAP.
When a service is transferred from one data center to another, you have to formulate a strategy that must be taken into consideration when a specific service is migrated and the application is dependent on each other. A common way to ensure service availability is to set up the migration group and then divide the interdependent applications into the same group. As for services that support most business applications, such as active directory and DNS, a common practice is to extend these core services across data centers. The service is still in the data center on both sides until the migration is completed.
The migration data center is an important and complex project for the enterprise, and the successful migration of the data center is also very important for the enterprise. So, some security risks that will be encountered during the migration process, and the enterprise should make the corresponding measures in time.
