Datacenter migration, introduction to modularized data center

Datacenter migration. The modular data center refers to the independent function and unified input and output interface of each module. The modules in different regions can backup each other and form a complete data center through the arrangement of the related modules. There are many forms of modularization, which can be design methods and ideas, or products.

Modularized design is adopted in the modular design method, and modularization design is also adopted in each function system of the data center, which can be divided into modules, sub floors and staging construction during construction. There are several forms of data center modularization in product form: modular products, micro modules, and container data centers.
Modular products are represented by modular UPS, modular precision air conditioning, modular wiring, etc. the micro module is typical with cabinet micro environment. It refers to a number of stand units as the basic units, including the refrigeration module, power supply and distribution module, network, wiring, monitoring, fire control, and other independent operating units. The piece can be prefabricated in the factory and can be disassembled and assembled quickly. The container data center can be considered as a standardized, prefabricated and pre tested large modular data center product and solution.
The advantages of modular systems:
1. Modular systems are extensible: modular infrastructure can be deployed according to current IT requirements and can be added to more components in the future according to needs. This will significantly reduce the total cost of ownership.
Modular systems are changeable: they can be reconfigured to provide great flexibility to meet changing IT needs.
Three, modular systems are portable: when installing, upgrading, reconfiguring, or moving modularized, independent components, standard interfaces, and easy to understand structures save time and save money.
Four. Modularized components are replaceable: failure modules can be easily replaced to be upgraded or repaired, and usually do not need to stop the system running.
Five, modularization can improve the quality of fault repair: the transplantable and pluggable features of the module make a lot of work available in the factory, including before delivery (such as pre wiring for distribution equipment), as well as after delivery (such as repair of power modules).
From a statistical point of view, the same work is done in the factory compared to the field operation, which is much lower in performance reduction, reduction in capacity and rate of failure, for example, compared with the UPS power module that has been repaired in the field, the repaired modules in the factory are causing power failure, new failures, or unable to recover to full load. The probability of working state is a thousand times lower.
6. In terms of energy consumption, modular data center can control energy consumption through centralized management, and improve the utilization of equipment, thereby reducing resource consumption. At the same time, the PUE value of the modular data center is greatly reduced because of the optimization of the power line and data cable path, the server deployment and installation, the airflow organization in the module and so on.
